Heart Rate Data Sharing From Mi Band 4 Is Possible

After the announcement of Mi smart band 4 on 14th Jun 2019, people all over the world were excited. Since the release of mi band 3, the need for another updated version with consideration of the price was felt so much. As none can offer the maximum considering the price point. Mi Band 4 fulfilled many of the expectations which made the update from mi band 3 worthy enough. But for quite some time the heart rate data sharing from Mi Band 4 is not possible.

Firmware V1.0.9.42 Is The New Beginning

Since quite a few updates were released for the Mi Band 4 but the bug fixing was going nowhere. As one update caused some problems with the charging. Mi urgently published another firmware to solve that bug. Not much was offered for the users except small bug fixing. But at the beginning of April of 2020, they suddenly came up with an update for the Mi Fit App. This version came up with another firmware update V1.0.9.42 with some lights of hope.

For the first time, it introduced the feature to unlock or lock your PC by using your smart band without having to install a third-party app on your smartphones. This feature is still possible only with the Windows 10 PCs. And not yet released for the world market except India.

Log in using Apple ID is also possible from now on for the first time. The update also comes with some minor bug-fixes for Mi Band 4. But heart rate data sharing from Mi Band 4 was not possible.

Latest Firmware V1.0.9.48 For Mi Band 4

Since long Mi Band users were not able to share the heart rate data with any other devices or applications. Whereas band 3 had the feature previously. But Xiaomi stopped the feature suddenly for an unknown reason.

But the latest firmware update for the mi band 4 which is V1.0.9.48 brought really great news for the band 4 users. Now heart rate data sharing from Mi Band 4 to other devices or applications are possible. This update brings a redesigned display setting for the Mi Fit app on the mobile. And the users will be able to rate the watch faces in the store.

Mi Band 4 users can now enjoy this feature in India and Vietnam for now. But gradually across the globe, all the countries will receive this update. This update will offer additional use for health and fitness records. Now users will not be bound to use only the Mi Fit app and can choose the suitable app as per their fits. iPhone users can even integrate the band with the Apple health app after this upgrade.

Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 with S Pen like the Notes

This year’s hottest topic is the folding phones to be released in 2020. Among the devices planned to be released this year a few of them already in the market. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip & Motorola Razr Flip is already out in the market for pre-order. To add to the surprise Galaxy Fold 2 will be with S Pen. This really makes sense for an extended 7.7-inch display of this phone. It is even bigger than the Galaxy Note10+.

We learned from the source that, this year’s S-Pen, included with this fold 2 will be a completely new version. Some modifications will happen anyway since the folded display will be more sensitive than the regular displays. Even it is not really clear about the material Samsung using this year for the display. They might go with the UTG display or keep the plastic one from the old Galaxy Fold. And the digital pen will synchronize with display accordingly.

Our source also confirmed Samsung might keep the same or somewhat similar specs as the S20+ – 12MP main, 64MP telephoto, 12MP ultrawide and a 3D ToF sensor to aid them all. Interestingly, the small display on the outer shell of the phone will have an Infinity-V panel. Which is just a minimalist notch. While the main display of this phone will go for either a punch-hole design or an under-screen camera.

Either way this Galaxy Fold 2 with S Pen will make a huge difference to the market. The only prayer is that Samsung don’t frustrate us like the first Galaxy Fold model. Though this technology for the bent display is still in the beginning. But it might be the next business. Quite a few folded or bent display models are coming to the market this year. So, the competition will be tight.

Samsung Galaxy Home Mini to be Released in Korea

For a while now, it seems like Samsung’s Bixby-powered smart speaker would keep existing as under development. Hence, it was first declared more than a year ago, in 2018. In the same declaration, the Galaxy Note 9 was announced and it is already aged in the hand of consumers. Earlier, Samsung Korea accidentally posted a report consisting of an announcement for the Galaxy Home Mini. Though Samsung Korea posted the article, eventually they took it down.

Before they took it down, we could take a peek. Samsung’s Unpacked event will take place in San Francisco on this mid-February. According to the post, Samsung Korea will introduce the Galaxy Home Mini for the Korean market the very next day. Samsung could fix the price around KRW 99,000 (~$83)

Samsung wants to make the Galaxy Home Mini a bit different with IR remote control capabilities. It can be a bit complicated to adjust volume or switch tracks using only voice commands. And some customers might prefer a more classic way to control their entertainment. So, Samsung believes this IR control would offer an option to them.

We all know, Samsung announced but delayed the Galaxy Home at least a couple of times. Most provably to further refine the Bixby, its in-house voice assistant. Samsung wants to be very careful with this new product type. They don’t want to rush and make this a mess.

The announcement from Samsung Korea mentioned for Korea only. We wonder when Samsung decides to release the Galaxy Home Mini for the Global market. We hope to hear some acknowledgment about the release date of Galaxy Home Mini at the Unpacked event next week.

Though many think that, Samsung is entering the smart speaker game too late. As both Google and Amazon have entered the market long ago. They also have a strong presence in the market of smart speakers already. So, the big question – is there enough room for this new platform of smart speaker to enter the market.

Future Apple Pencil to Have Touch Gesture

Apple Pencil is the best companion with the iPad. Since the iPad failed to impress the market like the iPhones or the AirPods, features with apple stylus helping iPad to make it special. It is one of the most used styluses out there with some regular gestures like the double-tap on the pen. Based on the latest news that published from the US Patent and Trademark Office, Apple will come with the next-generation Pencil. That will be able to do more advanced gestures.

The source describes a new apple pencil with a flexible, touch-sensitive spot that can identify different gestures based on your fingertip placement. The swiping gesture could be one of them.

The source also shared a possible new feature. When a user will hold a pen won’t be using the other hand to interact with the screen. So instead, the swipe and touch gestures might be used in the pen. So the user can control everything that is on the tab screen using just the stylus pencil.

Another more interesting feature described the Apple pencil will have a camera in the tip. And an advanced Haptic touch engine that will simulate the natural feelings of drawing on paper while working on the tab. This will be able to capture different types of surfaces using the tip camera. Then display those surfaces on the iPad’s screen when drawing with the stylus on that.

Mi Band 3 used Bluetooth version 4.2 where Mi band 4 used Bluetooth version 5.0 which is much faster and the Bluetooth range is also more.

Price

If you think about the price, Mi band 4 is slightly higher in price than the mi band 3. Global version mi band 3 price is around $25-$28. Where global version mi band 4 prices are around $35-$38. Chinese version bands will cost you a little less, around $5-$8. Considering the price mi band 3 users will be tempted to update, but let’s check if the updates worth the price.

Considering everything, if you are looking for a moderate price smart band you should think of updating to Xiaomi Mi Band 4 as the user experience will be much improved. But if you want a fully functioned smart gadget with better budget, you might think of other smart watches like Amaze fit GTS or Verge Lite, Galaxy watch or Huawei Watch GT etc.
